This is a perfect opportunity for new clinicians, students, current play therapists, and for anyone interested in networking in the community!!!

Participants will learn more about Behavior Services of the Mid-South LLC (BSMS), and the play therapy services and trainings offered. There will be 6.0 hours of APT approved live CONTACT CEUs for this event.  You must be present the entire 6.0 to get the APT approved CEUs.

1:00-4:00 Continuation of expressive arts programming and Practice Plays- Susan Elswick

We will cover our Introductory Topics of Expressive Arts in Play Therapy. The training course will discuss the Therapeutic Powers of Play to support our focus on the importance of play and its theoretical connection to practice.

Learning Objectives:

1) Participants will be able to identify theories of play therapy interventions -both directive and child centered interventions when using expressive arts.

2) Participants will identify the use of play therapy interventions for individual and group practice using expressive arts.

3) Participants will be able to describe the Therapeutic Powers of Play as presented in 1993 by Dr. Charles Schaefer, and how to embed expressive arts into practice.

4) Participants will be able to identify and list three specific expressive arts interventions that can be incorporated into their play therapy programming.

5) Participants will describe two populations in which expressive arts interventions can be used in the context of play therapy, and why that modality is helpful.

6) Participants will be able to identify two ways to track clinical progress in play therapy while utilizing expressive arts interventions.
